Andy is exceptionally client-focused and driven and with every session, he pushes your limits and boundaries. I can now lift heavy with confidence and see my abs for the first time in my life. When I first joined the gym, my knowledge of training and nutrition was severely lacking. Andy’s immense knowledge and expertise in training and nutrition helped me gain strength & muscle mass. I used to be obese and had chronic pain resulting from breaking my back when I was younger. As I put on weight my pain got worse and I couldn’t do as much exercise so I put on more weight and it spiraled until I was disabled with pain and very depressed. I have Type 1 diabetes and because of the pain and being unable to exercise my control was poor and I was starting to have serious complications. I started training with Andy and only in 3 months I lost 15 pounds of body fat and I started to lift weights. This changed my life. I’d been told by all doctors that I’d always have some level of pain, but they were wrong – I haven’t had any back pain since started lifting weights 4 years ago. Since then my Type 1 has also been well controlled, my mental health has improved considerably, and I feel (and look) better than I ever have. Andy has been instrumental in this process, and I’d recommend him to anyone ready to change their life for the better. He listens and has always built programs that I enjoy doing. I have seen real results in every area, and continue to do so as my goals change.
After years of gymnastics and then intense sporadic cardio sessions and hours of spin classes a week, I didn’t really have any idea of what to train or how to do it. Since then Andy has shifted my goals as we have progress, changing as we try new approaches and movements. We are now working towards a 100kg deadlift as well as a 40kg clean. From struggling to lift a 12kg bar, this was something I never dreamed I would be able to achieve. Andy has helped me shift my goals from unhealthy aesthetics to strength and empowering goals rather than the constant worrying about the scales and how much weight I was loosing. He has given me the confidence to lift heavy and physically push myself more than I have done in the last 15 years. With online training programs and nutritional support (and the patience when I fall off the wagon!), Andy has changed my outlook on my health and fitness. Andy helped me overcome the motivation & confidence issues I had when training by myself. We have been through a lot, unfortunately in my case suffering pretty terrible injuries that have been an ever-present issue with my training. Andy has always gone the extra mile ensuring my programs are very particularly tailored towards my rehab but without hindering strength & conditioning. Like most, I often struggle with what/when to eat but he ensures that I do the best I can! One of the best out there would recommend to anyone to help with the goals they arelooking at with fitness!
